SCORR Marketing Interns Gain Valuable Experience
(Kearney, Neb.; Aug. 27, 2015) — SCORR Marketing, a global full-service marketing and communications firm, had five students complete its summer internship program.
The program gives students a head start on their careers by providing hands-on experience working side-by-side with marketing professionals. Students held positions in business development, program management, production, creative and trade shows and events.
“Internships are in high demand because they’re crucial to help students step into a career right out of college,” said Shannon Busch, human resource director. “At SCORR, our program gives students insight into their future careers by teaching them about the professional work environment and involving them in real client projects.”
Students participating in the SCORR intern program include: Jake Debo from St. Louis, a senior in public relations at Creighton University; Meghan Forsgren from Omaha, a senior in organizational and relational communications at the University of Nebraska at Kearney; Macy Kovarik from Kearney, a junior in advertising and public relations at UNK; Jim Ma from Quangxi, China, a recent graduate in graphic design from UNK; and Karmin Moncrief from Kearney, a sophomore in hospitality, restaurant and tourism management at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
“I worked as a trade show and event coordinator and learned a lot about the design and development of exhibits and displays, logistics and lead generation,” said Moncrief. “I really enjoyed the teamwork-oriented environment at SCORR and know that my experience will give me a competitive advantage when I graduate.”
