Kearney Drive-In Self Storage Opens on the Site of Former Kearney Drive-In
The old Kearney Drive-In Theater is the site of Kearney’s newest and most secure self-storage facility, recently completed by BD Construction. Kearney Drive-In Self Storage offers 380 new enclosed units ranging in size from 10’x10’ to 10’x30’ as well as exterior storage for boats, RVs, cars and other vehicles. The new facility is on the site of the former Kearney Drive-In, which was decommissioned in 2008 when a tornado destroyed the projection screen.
“There’s always demand for this kind of storage space because people are constantly in transition and need a place to stash things temporarily or they own things that they want to keep but just don’t have the room for right now,” said Mark Benjamin, president and CEO of BD Construction. “Kearney Drive-In Self Storage is secure, convenient and affordable and will be a benefit to many who just need a little extra space.”
Kearney Drive-In Self Storage will become the third location managed by Sixth Street Self Storage, joining the original location on Sixth Street and 4URTOYS Storage at Johnson Lake. The new facility features all-steel construction, concrete floors and in-door guardian lock systems. Redundant security measures include fences, controlled electronic gate entry, video monitoring and nightly security patrol.
“These storage units are also ideal for people who need a place with quick access for motorcycles, bikes, kayaks, boats, campers and other seasonal and outdoor equipment,” Benjamin said. “Kearney Drive-In Self Storage is close in and convenient for much of Kearney.”
