Kearney CrossFit Personal Training Facility Under Construction in West Kearney
BD Construction, Inc. of Kearney, Neb., one of the Midwest’s leading construction companies, is starting construction on what promises to be one of the nicest training facilities in the region. Kearney CrossFit, which now operates in a temporary location at 2118 Avenue N, expects to be open in its new facility by early summer.
“We believe this will be an important asset for Kearney,” said BD Construction President and CEO Mark Benjamin. “It’s not just another gym, but a purpose-built facility for personal training.”
The new 6,000-square-foot facility will include 600 square feet of wrestling mats as well as two massage rooms, an open gym and a mixed martial arts cage. It is located in the 2900 block of West U.S. Highway 30, west of the Buckle corporate headquarters.
“The kind of training we do doesn’t involve traditional exercise machines,” said Trevor Brown, owner of Kearney CrossFit. “We do personal training as well as group sessions every hour with a different workout every day that involves everything from Olympic lifting to gymnastics to metabolic conditioning. Our new facility will have everything we need to provide customized, results-oriented training.”
Brown said the facility is staffed by three certified trainers including former national and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mixed martial arts champions. The new facility will be the training center for the junior Storm Hockey team as well as for the University of Nebraska at Kearney wrestling team.
“We want to play a role in the community for those who have a serious goal of improving their level of fitness,” Brown said. “For any who do, this will be an ideal place to do it.”
